OUR  VISION

 

The Heart Of Gold Foundation is a  representation  for anyone who has suffered from a loss due to any fairly unknown disease.  We're an empowering group that has the ability to continue to show, that you too do not have to ever become a victim, you can be an advocate.  Those left to carry-on a loved one's memory, can educate the world to ensure that others do not have to experience what they have.  We are the leaders to set a path for others who wish to make their loved one's death not be in vain.

 

This organization has worked diligently to promote services such as, support groups for those with sarcoidosis and their caregivers.  We conduct public events to provide education and awareness of this disease.  In addition we raise funds for research by offering literature and lectures that are held by medical professionals who specialize in caring for individuals with sarcoidosis and those who are effected by the disease.  We do this all in efforts to help provide an optimum quality of life for those affected by the disease and to find the cure and cause of sarcoidosis.

 

The Heart Of Gold Foundation was founded by Rena Dixon.  Her inspiration comes from her late husband, Kenneth Glen Dixon Sr.  Glen displayed impeccable courage and a commitment to life as a whole way more than words could ever effectively discribe.  Glen's life was brought to sudden halt on January 31, 2006 from lack of knowledge that was needed to educate him about this devastating disease.  Glen passed away from Cardiac Sarcoidosis, which is very sever if undetected. 

 

Never having a chance to say good -bye, myself and the volunteers of this organization will continue to work with determination in our hearts and minds to raise awareness by way of public events connected with Sarcoidosis.  

We altimately  intend to open the Kenneth Glen Dixon Center of Excellence for Sarcoidosis to provide clinical  care for Sarcoidosis patients and caregivers. We plan to serve as an educational resource for medical professionals, and to perform vital Sarcoidosis research.

 We will seek to make all levels of society more aware of this complicated disease.  With the help of individuals from all walks of life we can, and will make a difference. 

 

The Heart of Gold Foundation  uses the acrynonm B.R.E.A.T.H.S  when perticipating and hosting all public events connected with Sarcoidosis.  It stands for Believing Reasearch An Educating All  To Help Sarcoidosis.
